96-Year-old Becomes World’s Oldest Bungy Jumper (Updated)

April 8, 2010

I don’t know about you, but if I was 96 years old I’d be afraid that bungy jumping might, I don’t know, make parts of my body fall off or something. But not South African Mohr Keet. And holy cow, watch the video—that’s a really high bridge. (216 meters, or 708 feet high!)

Our favorite part: After Mr. Keet jumped, his daughter did, too. She’s 72 62. (And they both said they were “poop scared” before jumping.)

Update: Well, looky here – the daughter from the story, Ellen, has stopped in to comment on this post. (How did you find out about us? Did someone tell you you had made the Bathroom News?) Thanks, Ellen. And we’ve amended your age back 10 years to 62 – although it doesn’t seem like age bothers you at all. Thanks for stopping by, and good luck in all the jumpy and non-jumpy things you do.

Hi I was the daughter, I was not poop scared because my dad had just jumped, all I did was not look down. It was the most amazing experience of my life. Everyone should do it, it was gentle and really felt like flying!!!! Much better then a tandem parachute jump that I have also done. Have no FEAR JUST DO IT !! I am going to do it with my 14 year old grandson and 18 year old grand daughter in 8 years time, come and join us. I will then be 72, not as the papers reported that… Read more »
